Vacless Safety Vacuum Release Systems
Best Buy Pool & Spa Supply is now stocking the Vacless SVRS valves that adjust themselves to any existing pool piping configuration and filtration system. The Vacless unit is simply attached to the threaded port of a circulation pump's drain plug. Adjustable models allow suction relief for even the most unusual applications and are compliance tested up to 200 feet. The secret is an innovative proprietary seal design that compensates pneumatically to any pool system variation using a half to 10 horsepower pump. This seal system is comprised of a rubber o-ring that is mounted on a moving disc and positioned in such a way to perform dual face and radial sealing. The face sealing is responsible for blocking the atmospheric air from entering the pump during normal operation and the radial sealing is responsible for the seal travel until it releases air into the pump pot. Sequence of Events Breather 1 Automatic Reset The pump starts and runs the normal filtration cycle. Upon entrapment, the vacuum level inside the pot is elevated creating a differential pressure across the seal. Atmospheric air pushes the seal compressing a spring until the O-Ring crosses grooves that allow atmospheric air to rapidly fill the pot making the pump loose prime quickly freeing the entrapment. The entire travel of the seal occurs within milliseconds and after the entrapment is freed the seal automatically springs back to normal operating position for re-priming.

SR-500 Stingl Switch (Safety Vacuum Release System)
Description: SR-500 Stingl Switch (Safety Vacuum Release System) The Model SR-500 is a Safety Vacuum Release System (SVRS) which works by monitoring the vacuum on the suction side of the pool or spa pump. When a blockage occurs in the main drain or skimmer a sudden rise in vacuum will cause the SR-500 to shut down pump operate and activate an audible alarm.
